That's Another Story yeah That's Another Story
That I'll tell you when I get time
When your close to me I feel fine
For us to be apart is a crime
You make my world a safer place
When I'm away I cannot face
The thought that some-thing’s wrong at home
(This Verse Edited Out Of The Above Take)
When I'm far away I get scared
Are you safe at home in your bed?
I dread that some-thing's wrong and
I hope it won't be long
Until I am home with you again
(Bridge)
I know I sometimes like to get away
But I don't like to go to far
I can't relax when I am out to play
Because I wonder how you are ahhhh
But That's Another Story yeah That's Another Story
That I'll tell you when I get home
Sometimes I play the macho man with my mates
We're out for the night we "feel great"
But there's a feeling deep inside
I will not struggle hard to hide
The fact that I'm still missing you
Repeat Bridge & Chorus
That's Another Story yeah That's Another Story
That I'll tell you when I get home...
Another song written in the early 1990's Gregorian when I was in friendly competition with my writing partner Cliff Coates. This one was based on how I felt when I was away from home and worrying too much if everything was okay back at the ranch with my then wife. I could never really relax if I was on a course for work or something like that, especially when the kids were little.
The title was another song idea of mine and Cliff's that I took away and finished off. It suited 'The SubTles' concept really well so we dug it out for those sessions in 'the noughties' and what you hear here is a 'live in the studio' take from 2008 Gregorian. This version is also on The SubTles SoundCloud here.
That's Another Story is a well used phrase that we can all relate to and so suits a song well. I'm sure we're not the only ones to use it in this way. And apparently Rudyard Kipling used it several times as well so I guess we're in good company...
