'Inspired' by 'Lord of Karma' by Tears For Fears, which influenced yet another 1992 CE late night, (drunken) Haley/Coates creative jam session, following the usual song-writing session at our local boozer, 'The Bristol Arms'.
The company where we both worked (and first met) was going through one of those 'corporate restructurings' as they love to do, leading to lots of uncertainty, gossip and conjecture about what was going to happen, who was going where etc etc, and of course the corporate overlords made it all worse by having lots of clandestine meetings without providing any updates, hence the 'Cloak and Dagger'.
As usual we got something out of it by using it all as inspiration for another Haley/Coates original :)
